Last week, I wrote using an analogy of our bodies being like a refrigerator and just like a refrigerator we have to clean out our bodies and dispose things that are expired within our lives. The expired items may be a toxic relationship, job, negative thoughts or attitudes. Some of these relationships, jobs, thoughts or attitudes may have been your comfort place and made you feel secured. So one may ask, "Since I have trashed the expired items, what am I suppose to do now"? Going back to the refrigerator analogy, when one cleans out their refrigerator and disposes the rotten and expired items, he or she will go to the grocery store to restock. Therefore, when we begin to get rid of things in our lives, the next thing is to go to the grocery store. When we declutter our bodies from expired items, our grocery store is God. The first thing one must do is seek God's face and independently research what God wants us to store. We can do this through meditating, praying, reading the bible, and visions. God is our grocery store and He can replenish everything that has expired so that we can create the vision board for our lives. My mentor, Dr. Thema Bryant-Davis, added another aspect of how significant the "grocery store" or God could be in ones life. Some grocery stores allow you to put in an order and will deliver the items to your home. God will deliver fresh items that we ask for if we have an open heart, mind, soul, eyes, ears and hands to receive it. The beauty of God being your grocery store is that sometimes you do not have to put in an order for Him to deliver it because He already knows what we are in need of. If you trust God to replenish the things that were rotten, spoiled, expired or toxic in your life then life will begin to taste better. When one trust God, he or she would not give in to go back and will inevitably trust the process. I remember getting rid of some relationships, thoughts, attitudes, and leaving a dysfunctional employment place. I began to think, "Why did I hold onto those things so long? I mean once I got ride of it, life seemed so refreshing, light, and easy. The fruit on the outside look, felt, taste, and smell better. What was I thinking"? All along God was just saying trust the process, the order has been received and is in processing. No longer do you have to endure backaches, headaches, depression, suicide thoughts, stress or anger due to expire items. Life is just getting better. Lastly, I want to note the ending of the story I shared in last week blog. The conversation with my cousin ended with her saying, “T you’re always doing something crazy”. When you begin to trash expired items and trust in God, some may think you are crazy because they can’t see where your restock is going to come from. They may say, "you’re ending that relationship I mean yes he cheats, but at least he doesn’t hit on you and he provides". Some may say, " you're quitting your job to find another one? Well, you may not find one that has good benefits like this one. Just deal with the drama". Some may really try to convince you to hold on to that expired item, but remember you cant put a price on a peace of mind. So it is okay. Let them think you're crazy because you know where the new stock is coming from and can see the vision. Everyone isn't going to see it because the vision and destiny over your life was not shown or given to him or her, but it was given to you. Therefore, know that opposition may arise, but the other side will be more peaceful and fruitful. Don't let the fear or beliefs of others stop you from getting the freshness of life. |
